Everyone has that one food item that is so rich and indulgent and bad for you, it sends your taste buds to a nice roasty toasty hell. Post your indulgences and unholy but ever so tasty creations along with recipes, restaurants, and any other information people need to entertain the idea of trying flavor suicide.
Bon Appetit!
Note: This community is not for the faint of heart.
If you choose to join this group I will have to assume that you are familiar with the description before you joined. I would also have to assume that you joined this community to contribute based on what was written in the description. After all this community is not for the faint of heart.
I do understand the concern certain people may have when it comes to the health and wellness of the general population. There are definite health consequences if you spend your life only eating fatty, salty, sugary foods. Diet and proper nutrition are some important aspects of taking care of your body. So is exercise. So is a sound mind and a strong moral compass.
This community was not created to debate this. This community was not created to directly promote health. Rather I had hoped that members could develop a sense of humor instead of guilt when dealing with even the most deadly of their tasty creations - I intended Gluttonous Obsession to be a light hearted confessional.
No one here disputes the fact that the creations shared are not healthy. The users of this group are not lacking in the basics of nutrition. They do not believe that creations such as the Luther burger are good for their system. This community is about what is bad for our system, yet taste good to our tongues. This about the sickening delight.
Now if you want to talk about how unhealthy people are in general and what everyone is doing wrong and why we have obese children and how we all are going to get colon cancer and everyone is asking for a heart attack, a stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. - Go ahead. But not here. There is a time and a place for everything.
When people come here it is the place for Gluttonous Obsession. Not Orthorexic Obsession.
However I would not mind an in depth analysis of a specific nature on the food mentioned in this group. If any health conscious individuals want to be specific as to how an item actually effects the human body, they are more than encouraged to do so. We know the food listed here is bad, but to have a person analyze just how bad and just how the food is handled in the human body, would actually enhance the community experience and encourage an honest discussion instead of a biased perspectives forcing individual opinions on people they do not know in real life. The analysis would in fact be a response to an entry highlighting an item or recipe. It will not be enough just to say why the fat is bad or why the sodium is bad. The response would have to explain just what the person who ate this did to his or her body - the heart, the blood, the lungs, the brain, the skin, the arteries.
Thank you for your time.
